Classroom Initiatives
Programming designed for students includes lesson plans that address state and national learning standards across the curricula. There are currently three lesson plans in place, and more are being developed. Our Education Coordinator was invited to present at the first annual Western Southern Tier Council for the Social Studies Conference last fall. With the focus on “local history,” her topic was “Legacy of Laughter: the Cultural and Historical Legacy of Lcuille Ball."

Library
Exhibit
In the summer of 2007 we initiated a
collaborative exhibit at Smith
Library at Chautauqua Institution.
We were joined in this venture by
the Robert H. Jackson Center and the
Roger Tory Peterson Institute. The
title of the display was “Saluting
Local Legends.”

Girl Scouts
We have formed a strong partnership
with the Girl Scouts of Southwestern
New York. Our education coordinator
has developed programming which
enables Scouts to earn badges
through working with the Lucy-Desi
Center. In addition, Scout troops
have performed community service in
conjunction with the Center.

pictures about this partnership.
